Weekly Crime Report for 5-28-13 through 5-31-13

LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-25-13 2300 HRS. – 5-26-13 0800 HRS.
A resident in the 13000 block of 14 Mile Road, east of Schoenherr, reported that someone stole a weed whip out of the open bed of his pickup over night.
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-25-13 2100 HRS. – 5-26-13 0700 HRS.
A resident in the 35000 block of Georgetown Drive, located in the Moravian and Hayes area, reported that someone stole a garage door remote from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in his driveway.  The remote is for his workplace.  
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-25-13 BET. 1500 & 1630 HRS.
A patron of Liberty Park, 33600 Mound Road, reported that someone stole her purse from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the lot. 
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-25-13 BET. 1300 & 1330 HRS.
A patron of the Oriental Buffet, 44751 Schoenherr Road, south of Hall Road, reported that someone cut the catalytic converter from his vehicle while it was parked in the lot. 
MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY – 5-24-13 BET. 0100 & 1000 HRS.
A resident in the 10000 block of Lesure Drive, located in the 17 Mile and Plumbrook area, reported that someone damaged the driver’s door of his vehicle while it was parked in front of his home.  It appears someone struck the door with a hammer. 
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-23-13 1300 HRS. – 5-24-13 0500 HRS.
A resident in the 8000 block of Riverland Drive, between Van Dyke and Clinton River Road, reported that someone stole a GPS unit from her vehicle while it was parked in the lot.  When the victim came out to her vehicle, she found the passenger door ajar, and believes she may have left the car unlocked. 
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-24-13 @ 0102 HRS.
A guest in the 43000 block Trillium Drive, located in the Ryan and Hall Road area, reported that someone stole a GPS unit and a backpack containing school supplies from his unlocked vehicle.  His rollerblades were also taken, however were located a few houses away.
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-28-13 2230 HRS. – 5-29-13 0550 HRS.
A resident in the 2000 block of Arrowwood Court, located in the Ryan and 19 Mile Road area, reported that someone stole some electronics and his wallet from his vehicle.  The victim states the vehicle was locked, and there was very minor damage to the driver’s door that may be related.  The victim’s credit card was already used twice at the time of the report.
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-28-13 1900 HRS. – 5-29-13 0550 HRS.
A resident in the 40000 block of Remsen Drive, located in the Schoenherr and Clinton River Road area, reported that someone stole her laptop computer from the passenger side floorboard of her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in her driveway.  Nothing else was missing and there was no damage to the vehicle. 
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-16-13 1900 HRS. – 5-28-13 0930 HRS.
A resident in the 11000 block of Delvin Drive, located in the 19 Mile and Clinton River Road area, reported that someone stole a GPS unit from his unlocked vehicle.  The GPS unit was located in plain view on the dashboard.
LARCENY FROM YARDS – 5-24-13 1700 HRS. – 5-27-13 0800 HRS.
The owner reported that her trailer was stolen from behind her business in the 42000 block of Yearego Drive, located in the 18.5 Mile Road and Van Dyke area.  The trailer was empty at the time of the theft. 
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-27-13 2100 HRS. – 5-28-13 0800 HRS.
A resident in the 2000 block of Kipling Drive, located in the Dequindre and 17 Mile Road area, reported that someone stole her wallet and miscellaneous other items from her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway.  It is uncertain if the vehicle was locked.  Several items were recovered down the street by a neighbor.
LARCENY FROM YARDS – 5-30-13 @ 0129 HRS.
A resident in the 43000 block of Riviera Avenue, located in the Van Dyke and 19 Mile Road area, reported that someone stole an antique gun that he left on his porch.  The victim states he’s been refinishing the gun, and left it on his porch to sun dry.  The gun has no firing mechanism or springs, and there is no magazine.
LARCENY FROM YARDS – 5-27-13 2100 HRS. – 5-28-13 0800 HRS.
A resident in the 12000 block of Bubar Court, located in the 16 Mile and Dodge Park Road area, reported that someone stole a bear statue from her porch.
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-28-13 BET. 1615 & 1700 HRS.
The victim reported that while his vehicle was parked in a lot in the 12000 block of Greenway Drive, located in the Dodge Park Road and 16 Mile area, someone stole several electronics from it.  There were no signs of forced entry. 
MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY – 5-28-13 1800 HRS. – 5-29-13 1030 HRS.
A resident in the 40000 block of Republic Drive, located in the Hayes and Clinton River Road area, reported that someone broke off a mirror casing from her vehicle while it was parked in front of her residence.  The mirror was shattered.
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-28-13 2030 HRS. – 5-29-13 0800 HRS.
Two residents in the Dequindre and 19 Mile Road area, one in the 2000 block of Burningbush Drive and the other in 3000 block of Chinaberry Court, reported that someone stole items from their vehicles.  A laptop, iPod and a money clip with cash were taken from an unlocked company vehicle while it was parked in the victim’s driveway.  The other vehicle had the front passenger window broken out and the victim’s purse was taken from the passenger side floor.  It does not appear the door was opened on this vehicle and nothing else was disturbed.
LARCENY FROM AUTO – 5-29-13 2000 HRS. – 5-30-13 0730 HRS.
A resident in the 35000 block of Candlewood Drive, located in the Schoenherr and 15 Mile Road area, reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole an iPod Touch with charger cord and headphones.  The vehicle was parked in the victim’s driveway at the time of the theft. 
MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY – 5-29-13 2300 HRS. – 5-30-13 0730 HRS.
A resident in the 35000 block of Townley Drive, located in the 15 Mile and Van Dyke area, reported that someone punctured two tires on her vehicle with a sharp object.

"A resident of the 3000 block of Mangrove reported that on the night of 7/4/12 their mailbox was apparently destroyed by a large firework and their United States flag was stolen from its mount. Additionally other mailboxes in the neighborhood appeared to have been vandalized to some extent as well."

"On the night of 2/16/12 , a Cadillac Escalade parked on the 3000 block of Mangrove had all four (4) tires and rims stolen and was left propped up on cinder blocks.  If anyone recalls seeing any suspicious activity during the evening of 2/16/12 or early morning of 2/17/12 they should follow up with the Sterling Heights Police accordingly"

BREAKING & ENTERING – 12-28-11 1300 HRS. – 1912 HRS.
A resident in the 2000 block of Burningbush, located in the area of 19 Mile and Dequindre, reported that someone had broken into his residence while he and his wife were out.  The suspect(s) entered through a kitchen window in the rear of the house.  The security alarm was tripped when the suspect(s) exited through a rear doorwall, which is the same time that the victim and his wife arrived home.  Nothing in the house had been disturbed, and there didn’t appear to be anything missing.   
 
BREAKING & ENTERING – 12-28-11 1530 HRS. – 2200 HRS.
There were two break-in attempts made in the 1000 block of Forest Mead, located in the area of 19 Mile and Dequindre.  One of the residents arrived home from work and discovered that someone had attempted to pry the front door open, but was unsuccessful.  The other resident reported that he and his wife arrived home to find the rear sliding doorwall ajar.  Closer inspection revealed that the door had been pried open.  Several bedrooms had been rummaged through, and there was cash and several pieces of jewelry missing.

LARCENY– 8-23-11 @ 1500 HRS. & M.D.O.P. – 9-27-11 2030 HRS. – 9-28-11 0850 RES.
A resident in the 45000 block of Hoptree Drive, located in the 19 Mile and Dequindre area, reported that someone scratched his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway.  He also reported that someone stole a package that was delivered by UPS on August 23rd.  The victim was advised that the delivery should take approximately 6 weeks to reach him.  Since it had been well over 6 weeks, the victim checked into the delivery date and was advised that the package had been delivered to his front porch over a month ago.
